Feeling nostalgic for yesteryear’s over-the-top celebrations? London-based designer Matthew Williamson collaborated with Benefit Cosmetics on a high-fashion makeup palette called “The Rich Is Back.” The collection ($34) includes three neutral shimmer shadows and a pop of teal, plus a cherry lipgloss, a blush and mascara. It comes in a kaleidoscopic colored box with peacock feathers and pink flowers indicative of Williamson’s bohemian spirit that rocks his fashion runways. The inspiration for the palette came from both the designer’s favorite period of time and the decade of Benefit’s inception—the 1970s—and pays homage to the era’s glamour and decadence, stylish cocktail parties and hedonistic discos. The packaging is made of cardboard so, like many other Benefit packages, once you finish the product you can slip out the inside and retain the box for special keepsakes.
